DJ Masta Beats and Strangelove interview That1Guy: the rare one-man-band known for playing an instrument of his own creation, “The Magic Pipe.”  This guy, Mike Silverman, brings the best vaudevillian act on stage complete with his a cappella of a didgeridoo and magic! He plays Spanish Moon TONIGHT, September 18 @ 9 p.m., and House of Blues New Orleans tomorrow, September 19.
That1Guy’s site describes The Magic Pipe the best way possible, “a monstrosity of metal, strings, and electronics, facilitates the dynamic live creation of music and magic in ways only That1Guy can conjure.”
That1Guy talks us through his start in jazz to why he started playing by himself. It’s not because he doesn’t have friends or hates people. Listen to hear why. He even talks about his collaboration with guitar god, Buckethead, and their project Frankenstein Brothers.
