DJ Strangelove welcomes local indie-folk-rock band Ship of Fools down to KLSU to talk how they met, upcoming projects, their growing stardom, and the warm, sincere local music scene of Baton Rouge. Of Ship of Fools, we got to chat with guitarist Michael Blount, percussionist Eric Brown, and singer Ashley Monaghan. Member and cellist Raudol Palacios could not make it.

Ship of Fools is playing with Molly Taylor at Spanish Moon on Saturday, January 31, 2015.

2. At 3:20 into the interview, Eric, Michael, and Ashley describe the magic of Highland Coffees. It is located on 3350 Highland Rd. HERE is the Highland Coffees Facebook page. Look out for another Highlander Music Festival which celebrates the Baton Rouge community and showcases local musicians.

5. At 7:30, Ashley mentions upcoming projects with Elevator Projects of Baton Rouge. The Elevator Projects is a “nonprofit creative organization dedicated to educating, serving, and engaging audiences to inspire progress.” HERE is their Facebook page.
