LSU sophomore Morgan Schuetz was named the Southeastern Conference Women’s Runner of the Week for her performance at the Auburn Indoor Invitational Friday.
While breaking her personal lifetime best, Schuetz managed to turn in a nation-best performance in the women’s 800-meter race Friday.
Her time of 2 minutes and 6.32 seconds was good enough to earn victory by just less than a second and broke her previous indoor best time of 2:08.89.
Schuetz also anchored the women’s distance medley relay in its victory of more than 30 seconds. Schuetz finished the mile in 4:52.50, leading the group to a nation-best time of 11:35.51.
