As we bring in the New Year, our new years resolutions are always a topic of discussion. One of the most common is going to the gym.
And as classes resume, the LSU UREC is preparing for the mass amount of people that will walk into the facility feeling that this year will be different from the last.
A lot of research has been done toward this trend, and it shows that 80% of the New Years Resolutions crowd drops off by the second week of February. But the UREC has created many different fitness opportunities to help students stick with it.
“We also have personal trainers so they do one on one personal training and they also do small group training,” said Katherine Guillot, UREC employee. “We have specialty courses which are pretty cool. They have all kinds of different interests.”
Most people that come to the gym for that first time in January are lost and don’t know how to use any of the machines and truly not knowing how to work out in the right ways. The UREC has employees who are there to help out anyone who may be lost.
“It’s great to have those services like a fitness assistant to answer those questions,” said Katherine Guillot, UREC employee.
Learning how to use the equipment can make your experience more successful and can help you keep to your resolution.
