Student Government officials said they are making strides toward the implementation of a paperless student ticketing system for University athletic events.
The initiative – one of the initiatives outlined on SG President Cody Wells’ pushcard last election season – is making its first in the final weeks of his term.
SG Executive Director of Athletics Chas Kelly said the completion of this initiative is inevitable within the next two years. Kelly said the chip will still allow students to exchange and upgrade student tickets and that it should cut admission lines down by 30 minutes.
Kelly said this plan would be accomplished by adding a smart chip to the Tiger Card. He said that the program would save the athletics department money and cut paper waste.
