SHREVEPORT (AP) – Shreveport police say officers shot a 29-year-old man who drove his truck into at least two parked cars, then allegedly tried to run over two mounted patrol officers.
Christopher Duggan of Bossier City is in critical condition and faces charges of drunk driving, reckless driving, aggravated assault on a police officer and flight.
Two mounted Shreveport officers ordered him to stop, and the driver pushed both the brake and gas pedals, spinning the back wheels.
while the horses were directly in front of him.
The news release says one officer pulled his gun and fired, hitting the driver. By the time an officer across the Red River in Bossier City stopped the truck, a former passenger was driving.
