It’s Super Bowl weekend, and LSU athletics is offering a plethora of events for fans to attend on campus as they await the big game.
The action starts Friday night at 7:00 when the Gymnastics team welcomes Kentucky into the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. LSU enters the meet ranked fourteenth in the GymInfo standings, despite a 1-6 record.
LSU holds a 64-5 all-time record against Kentucky, despite losses to the Wildcats the last two seasons.
The match is a priority points match for students, and adult tickets are $5. Youth tickets are $3.
The men’s basketball team hosts the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday at 12:45. LSU lost by 9 at Arkansas three weeks ago, and will be looking for revenge.
They will also look to snap a three game losing streak. The Tigers are 2-5 in the SEC, and will need a strong finish to have a shot at making the postseason.
The game will also be televised on the SEC network.
The women’s tennis team welcomes future conference foe Texas A&M to Dub Robinson Stadium Sunday at 1:00. The lady Tigers are coming off a 7-0 victory at Colorado, and want to start their home stand off right. They will also play Southern and Rice on Tuesday.
The women’s basketball team hosts Kentucky on Sunday at 2:00. The Lady Tigers look to snap a five game conference losing streak.
They will face an uphill battle, as Kentucky comes in ranked fifth in the country. LSU will need a big game from LaSondra Barrett to have a chance against the Wildcats.
Fans are encouraged to wear gold for this game, as it is the “gold game.”
