The University announced its finalists for the position of vice chancellor of research and economic development Friday, after a search committee was assembled last semester to find prospective candidates.
The three male finalists all hail from universities west of LSU – Richard Billo, University of Texas at Arlington’s associate vice president for research; Mark Aldenderfer, University of California, Merced’s dean and professor in the School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts; and Morris Foster, University of Oklahoma at Norman’s associate vice chancellor for research and strategic planning.
Each candidate will visit the University in the upcoming weeks and will express his vision for the University during open forums.
Billo’s forum will be Feb. 27 at 3 p.m. in Dodson Auditorium; Aldenderfer’s will be March 12 at 3:30 p.m. in Dodson Auditorium; and Foster’s will be March 15 at 4 p.m. in Lockett 2.
Currently filling the position as Interim Vice Chancellor of Research and Economic Development is Thomas Klei, who said last semester that he plans to return to the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine once he steps down from his administrative role.
