BOGALUSA (AP) — A proposed amendment to the Bogalusa city ordinance that prohibits the possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages on public property will get a public hearing this week.
The Daily News reports the proposed amendment would only exempt documented nonprofit organizations that would be required to get Special Event Permits and to stick with beverages of low-alcohol content.
Opponents say the law should stay unchanged, regardless of any potential economic impact.
