We’d like to appeal to you
About a little thing we like to call: Getting our Asses to Voodoo.
Listening to GoGo and getting in the zone
Little did we know our minds were about to be blown.
Two free week-end Voodoo passes, I quote,
if we could only write a fancy note.
Seeing them would be pure bliss.
We were beginning to think we’d be among the unfortunate to miss!
Surely that’s some kind of sin?
As we’re leaving for other parts of world soon, we’d love to win.
We know the musicians will leave us in a sort of trance,
if only we can be a part of D.A.N.C.E.
Sincerely,
Sarah and Jennifer

Anyone can have a valid reason as to why they should be the ones to obtain Voodoo tickets; simply to just be there. Well, being so new to the Louisiana lifestyle, and making a brave choice by moving from New York to here, I feel that it would be a nice change and an interesting experience. See, to me, concerts are all about being one with the crowd and the band, and since all of my family is back home in NY, it would be the closest thing I have to having a “family” for a temporary amount of time. Uniting as one and getting to enjoy the experience of pure happiness with friends would open my eyes to some of the lifestyle that Louisiana gladly shares. With that being said, being given that opportunity would be absolutely amazing, and what’s better than making someone’s day anyway? And, who knows, maybe it would get me to say “y’all” for once. :p

Hi there KLSU (the best radio station in all the land)!!
I’m sending this e-mail to let you know why I should be the recipient of those lovely weekend passes you want to give away. The first Voodoo Fest I attended was in 2010 and it was the best Halloween weekend of my life. My girlfriend was just beginning nursing school at the time and she was just as dedicated to school as she was the music. She had a test on Monday so on Sunday between bands she pulled out her notes and studied on the grounds while several friends sat around and visited with us. It was the best atmosphere I have ever experienced – the awesome October weather, the beautiful park, good friends (old and new), and some of the best performances I’ve ever seen in my 26 years. In December my girlfriend will be graduating from nursing school and she just found out that her clinicals will be from 7am-7pm on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays!! L October 21st will be our 3 year anniversary and I would love to bring her back to the city we love before her weekends will be spent in hospitals.
THANKS KLSU!!
LOTS OF LOVE,
Claire Hohensee

Look at this Metallic poster, isn’t it neat?
Wouldn’t you think my collection’s complete?
Wouldn’t you think I’m the girl
The girl who has everything?
How many songs can one ipod hold?
Looking around here, you’d think
Sure, she’s got everything
I’ve got who’s-its and what’s-its galore
You want Bootsy Collins songs?
I’ve got twenty
But who cares? No big deal. I want moreeeeee
I wanna see, wanna see ’em dancin’
walkin’ around on those
Whaddya call ’em? Oh, drugs
Tickets are required for jumpin’, dancin’
Strollin’ along down the
What’s that word again? City Park!
Down where they bounce
Down where they run
Down where they rock all day in the sun
Wanderin’ free, wish I could join
Bet they don’t reprimand their listeners
Bright young fans, wanting to Voodoo
Ready to rock!
Ask ’em my questions and get some answers
What’s a bass, and why does it
What’s the word? Drop!
Wouldn’t I love?
Love to explore that Festival of Voodoo
Out of the sea, wish I could be
Part of that festival
Entry 5: Help me Pop the Question, KLSU!
Dearest klsu;
My boyfriend and I have been together for almost four years, our anniversary is Friday when the Avett Brothers are playing at voodoo. During the course of our relationship we have seen the Avett brothers play and “laundry room” has become our song. I plan on proposing to my boyfriend on our fourth anniversary, and instead of just playing the Avett brothers on my computer when I propose it would be amazing to see them. If you believe in true love, you will give the tickets to me so I can bring my hopefully soon to be fiancé to the show, and ask him to marry me.
