There’s not much that can frazzle The Daily Reveille staff — we slept in the newsroom during Hurricane Isaac for God’s sake.
But when our phones unanimously chimed and alerted us of the bomb threat on campus today, we had to leave our newsroom and work remotely. The Daily Reveille’s website, lsureveille.com has been updated throughout the day to reflect the latest news and our Twitter feed @lsureveille has been abuzz all day.
While we’ve been keeping students as up-to-date as possible online, we will not publish a print edition on Tuesday because we still are not allowed back into our newsroom. Despite our stories galore and excellent photographs that have been picked up by the Associated Press, we can’t publish our print product when we can’t return to campus.
Several of our staffers and myself just returned from a press conference with Chancellor William “Bill” Jenkins and Provost Stuart Bell, and nobody knows when students will be allowed back on campus. The bomb threat investigation is ongoing, and students should be notified when campus re-opens. Our print edition will resume once that happens.
Until then, keep checking our website and following our Twitter account and our Facebook page for live updates as more news about the bomb threat develops. If you have any questions in particular or any leads, feel free to email us at [email protected].
