Jan. 10, 5 p.m. — East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s detectives arrested Johnny Williams, 17, on four counts of first-degree murder after the Saturday shooting at the Mall of Louisiana, according to Casey Rayborn Hicks, public information director for EBRSO.
After the initial arrest of Meco Damon Green was made on Monday, detectives received tips based on witness observations stating Williams was the shooter. Detectives said they received enough evidence to release Green.
According to reports, Williams had a verbal altercation with another man and fired several shots, which injured the two innocent bystanders.
When questioned, Williams admitted to firing the weapon. He also had an active warrant for an armed robbery issued by the Baton Rouge Police Department, Hicks said.
He was booked into the parish prison under the aforementioned charges.

Jan. 9, 2:40 p.m. — East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s detectives arrested Meco Damon Green on four counts of attempted first-degree murder for allegedly firing shots, according to Casey Rayborn Hicks, public information director for the EBRSO.
Green shot two innocent male juveniles, missed a third and fired a fourth shot at the intended victim, Hicks said. He held a handgun and the intended victim fled on foot.
He was booked into the parish prison on Sunday night.
Detectives are still investigating the case, and more arrests are pending. Further information will be released as it becomes available.

Jan. 8, 4:30 p.m. — Two males are injured after a shooting at the Mall of Louisiana on Saturday, Jan. 7, at 9:35 p.m., according to Casey Rayborn Hicks, public information director for the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office.
Shots were fired by two males involved in an altercation outside the mall in between Dillard’s and the Rave movie theater. Hicks said two males not involved in the altercation were shot.
Both males sustained non life-threatening injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals.
Several individuals were seen fleeing the scene. East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s detectives are investigating the incident.

Jan. 7 — Two people were shot Saturday night outside of the Mall of Louisiana, according to WAFB News.
WAFB reported the East Baton Rouge Parish Sherriff’s Office as saying both people’s injuries weren’t life threatening. The shooting occurred outside Dillard’s around 9:30 p.m., according to the report.
WBRZ News reported the suspects have not yet been tracked down by police.
