The NCAA announced today that the LSU soccer team ranked in the nation’s top 10 in average home attendance for the 2007 season.
The Tigers had 10,349 fans visit the LSU Soccer Complex in LSU’s eight home games this past season. Their average of 1,294 fans per home game ranked No. 10 in the country.
Portland ranked No. 1 in attendance this past season, averaging 3,608 fans per home game. Only Georgia (No. 6) and Florida (No. 9) were ahead of LSU in the top 10.
“The fans that made it out to the LSU Soccer Complex this year helped create one of the greatest atmospheres for college soccer anywhere in the country,” LSU coach Brian Lee said in a news release. “Our fans have been tremendous, and we’re appreciative of the support they’ve shown our kids the last three years. They’ve played a major role in the success we enjoy today.”
LSU finished this past season with a 12-5-7 record. The Tigers were undefeated at home, finishing with a 5-0-3 record at the LSU Soccer Complex.
