The LSU gymnastics team came up short in its quest for a national championship, finishing in fifth place with a score of 196.350 at the NCAA Super Six.
Georgia won its fourth straight national championship with a score of 197.450.
Utah, Stanford, Florida and Alabama finished second, third, fourth and sixth, respectively.
Junior Ashleigh Clare-Kearney led the Tigers with scores of 9.900 on the bars, beam and floor and a score of 9.925 on the vault.
LSU finishes the 2008 season with a 25-8 record.
