A Student Government University Court Justice and two other men were arrested on campus for drug-related charges.
University Court Justice Josh Sievers, of 3209 Ravenwood Dr.,Godfrey, Ill. faces felony charges for intent to distribute schedule I drugs and possession of schedule II drugs and a misdemeanor charge for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Student Government President Colorado Robertson said Sievers will continue to serve as a University Court Justice unless he is convicted or placed on disciplinary probation by the Office of the Dean of Students.
Andrew Alvis, of 11803 Primwood Dr., Houston faces a felony charge for possession of schedule II drugs and misdemeanor charges for possession of schedule I drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
James Glenn, of 17003 Cross Springs Dr., Houston, faces two misdemeanor charges – possession of schedule I drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On April 28, the LSU Police Department responded to a 9:19 p.m. fire alarm in the Business Residential College. Upon entering one of the rooms, officers smelled burned marijuana, LSUPD Spokesman Maj. Lawrence Rabalais said.
Additional details concerning subsequent events of the arrests were not available by press time.
The schedule I drug charges are all marijuana related, as the drug does not have any medicinal value according to Louisiana law.
The schedule II charges relate to possession of the prescription drug Adderall, which does have a medicinal value, Rabalais said.
Sievers and Alvis were booked into East Baton Rouge Parish and bonds were set at $15,000 each. Glenn was booked into Parish Prison, and bond was set at $10,000.
As of 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, Alvis and Glenn were released on Bond, but Sievers remained in Parish Prison.
