After blowing a seven-run lead, LSU (23-16-1, 6-11-1) held off a late-game rally by No. 7 Georgia and battled the Bulldogs to a 10-10 tie in 12 innings Sunday afternoon in Alex Box Stadium.
The Tigers were up 7-1 after five innings and 10-3 going into the sevent, but Georgia (27-12-1, 14-3-1) scored nine runs in the game’s final four innings to force extra innings.
Junior Derek Helenihi and freshmen Micah Gibbs and Leon Landry each had three hits for the Tigers.
LSU senior Jared Bradford pitched six innings and gave up 10 hits and six earned runs while striking out eight batters.
Sophomore Paul Bertuccini and junior Ryan Verdugo combined to pitch three scoreless innings for the Tigers.
