The LSU baseball team is ranked No. 33 in the latest RPI rankings, according to Boyd’s World.
The jump in the rankings comes on the heels of LSU’s recent six-game winning streak, which included a Southeastern Conference sweep of then-No. 12 South Carolina this past weekend in Alex Box Stadium.
The sweep was LSU’s first conference sweep at home since 2003.
LSU (29-16-1, 9-11-1) is now a half game behind eighth place in the SEC standings. The Tigers are third in the western division behind Ole Miss (30-17, 11-10) and Alabama (26-21, 10-11).
The top-eight teams in the conference will qualify for the SEC tournament, which will be held May 21-25 in Hoover, Ala.
