LSU’s 12-straight victories have pushed the team up to No. 16 in the Baseball America poll and No. 23 in the latest RPI rankings.
The Tigers (35-16-1, 15-11-1) will play the University of New Orleans at Zephyr Field in Metairie on Tuesday night. The Privateers (38-13, 18-8 Sun Belt) are on their own tear, winning 13-straight games and jumping to No. 27 in the RPI.
UNO is the highest-ranked team the Tigers will play the rest of the the regular season.
If the SEC tournament started today, the Tigers would be the No. 2 seed since they are leading the SEC Western Division.
The Tigers finish regular season play on the road against Auburn on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
