LSU’s Chinese Students and Scholars Association will host the 2008 Chinese New Year Celebration on Saturday at the Student Union. The celebration begins at 5 p.m. with food near the Tiger Lair. The shows, which include traditional Chinese dance, start at 7 p.m. in the Union, too. About 800 people attended this past year’s event. Chang Wei, president of LSU-CSSA, said the event is a good introduction to Chinese culture, which can benefit students with future careers involving Chinese culture. Admission is free, but there will be opportunities to donate to the Red Cross Society of China. If you have questions about the event, send them to LSU-CSSA via [email protected].
