BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — How do you make your business grow? The Louisiana State University AgCenter says it may have an answer.
The AgCenter is teaching classes this fall aimed at helping small businesses in north Louisiana grow by expanding to the Internet.
The AgCenter is part of a cooperative pilot project to help business owners or those wanting to start an online business use the Internet to their advantage.
Dora Ann Hatch, a community rural development agent with the AgCenter, says 60 percent of small businesses have Web sites. She says those can be used to reach different markets, build name recognition, cut operating costs and supplement brick-and-mortar business.
There are classes Wednesday and Thursday in New Roads and in Winnsboro next month.
