Political science professor Kevin Mulcahy was arrested Friday for unauthorized entering of an inhabited dwelling, East Baton Rouge Parish Prison booking records indicate.
Mulcahy was put on paid administrative leave, pending University review, effective Friday, said Kristine Calongne, University spokeswoman.Mulcahy was arrested and accused of being a peeping Tom in September 2006, leading to an investigative probe by the University and his placement on paid administrative leave.In the 2006 incident, Mulcahy was issued a misdemeanor summons when the victim, a University student, claimed he was walking on Highland Road in the North Gate area when he saw a car driving in his direction, made eye contact with the driver, Mulcahy, who then followed the student to his apartment. Mulcahy’s lawyer maintained Mulcahy’s innocence.Mulcahy has been at the University for 28 years and teaches several courses in the political science department, including American government topics.
