The University Student Recreational Complex will re-open Friday with limited services, almost a week after Hurricane Gustav caused more than $3 million in damage to the building.
“Services will be available for cardio and weight training, group exercise, racquetball, squash, power lifting, equipment issue, locker rooms, climbing gym, and most sport clubs. The pool will re-open on Sunday, September 7th. The field and tennis portions of the complex will re-open beginning Monday, September 8th as weather and cleaning permits,” the UREC said in a news release.
The gym area will be closed indefinitely because of extensive water and roof damage. That includes the “basketball/volleyball/badminton courts as well as the indoor track,” the UREC said.
