Former Saints coach Jim Haslett has been named the St. Louis Rams’ interim coach this morning, ESPN reported.
Haslett was in his third season as Rams’ defensive coordinator before replacing fired coach Scott Linehan.
A press conference has been scheduled for Monday afternoon, according to the ESPN article.
Linehan’s reported firing comes after a fourth consecutive loss to open the 2008 season.
“I have enormous respect for Scott Linehan as a person and believe under the right circumstances he will be regarded one day as a fine head coach,” owner Chip Rosenbloom said in a release. “Unfortunately, the situation with the Rams as they exist today is no longer acceptable and we have to make a change.”
