The University sent out a text message this morning around 11:20 a.m. Friday, saying the University is closing at noon because of bad weather from Hurricane Ike.
Classes are canceled after noon and will resume Monday.
“We just wanted to make sure that students, faculty and staff are as safe as they could be,” said Todd Miller, Emergency Operations Center public information director.
LSU Sports Information Director Michael Bonnette said Saturday’s football game against North Texas and all game-related activities are still scheduled to occur.
