The pay-per-view telecast of LSU’s game Saturday against North Texas will be available for free to Cox Communications customers in the Baton Rouge area, according to an LSU news release. The game will be available on a pay-per-view basis to the rest of the state as usual. The Southeastern Conference approved the decision following a waiver approved by ESPN to allow the game to be shown free of charge in the Baton Rouge area. The waiver was sought when Cox was unable to process orders in the wake of Hurricane Gustav.”We are pleased we are able to offer this with our partners at Cox to their customers in the Baton Rouge area,” said LSU director of athletics Joe Alleva. “The SEC and ESPN were understanding of our situation here after the hurricane and made an exception so that Tiger fans in Baton Rouge could enjoy this game.”A broadcast of the game will be available in the Baton Rouge Cox 4 coverage area. The game can also be seen on DirectTV channel 787, the Dish Network channel 464 and as a part of ESPN’s GamePlan package.
