The fall Student Organization Fair is today from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Free Speech Plaza. The fair aims to promote campus involvement. Being involved at the University has benefits, including leadership skills, networking and job opportunities, said Michelle Eldredge, associate director of campus life.Room for 120 organizations is provided, though the University has more than 350 registered organizations.Organizations are given a table, and they can set up posters.”It’s a good way of getting exposure,” said Aryaz Sheybani, biological sciences sophomore, and overall chair for Alternative Service Break.Sheybani said he expects nearly 100 students to visit the Alternative Service Break’s table. The fair is a win-win situation, said Stephen Picard, President of Baptist Collegiate Ministries. Students can become involved, and the Baptist Collegiate Ministry gets great advertisement, he said.”It’s a great way to get your name out there,” said Kelsey White, broadcast journalism senior and Cinema Club treasurer.Students are looking forward to the fair.”I might find something I like that I didn’t know was an organization,” said Chris Lopinto, biological sciences freshman. The organization fair helps freshmen find information, said Lindsey Baker, general studies sophomore. In case of rain, it will be held Wednesday Sept. 3 from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.If it rains Sept. 3, the fair will be moved indoors to the Cotillion Ballroom.—-
