That depression quickly turned into Tropical Storm Edouard.
As of 5 p.m., the center of the depression was located 90 miles southeast of the mouth of the Mississippi River and about 420 east of Galveston, Texas.
A tropical storm warning is in effect for the Louisiana coast from the mouth of the Mississippi River westward to Intracostal City.
