Former Tiger Muna Lee finished No. 4 in the women’s 200-meter dash at the Beijing Olympics on Thursday morning.
Lee finished the race in a personal-best 22.01 seconds, improving upon the 22.29-second mark she set in Wednesday’s semifinal.
“I wanted a medal, of course, but I ran a PR [personal record] every time I stepped on the track,” Lee said in a release. “I can’t complain. I could be at home watching the race on TV.”
Jamaica’s Veronica Campbell-Brown, America’s Allyson Felix and Jamaica’s Kerron Stewart took home the gold, silver and bronze medals, respectively.
THOMPSON CONTINUES DRIVE FOR SECOND MEDAL
Former LSU athlete Richard Thompson took one step closer to collecting his second medal of the 2008 Olympics on Thursday morning.
Thompson and his Trinidad and Tobago relay team earned a spot in Friday’s men’s 4×100 relay medal race.
Thompson also won the silver medal in the men’s 100-meter dash Saturday morning.
