Campus elevators will be shut down in anticipation of possible power failures during Hurricane Gustav, according to a broadcast e-mail from the Office of Public Affairs.”Any campus power outages will be restored as quickly as possible, and residence halls and campus apartments will receive first priority,” according to the e-mail.The LSU Emergency Operations Center will alert the University when it will be safe for power to be restored to the elevators.Steve Waller, director of Residential Life, said the elevator outage will not apply to residential halls on campus.
