The LSU women’s track and field team won the NCAA Outdoor Championship team title Sunday over Arizona State in the final event of the meet.
LSU finished second in the 4×400-meter relay to clinch the title.
The Tigers were tied with Arizona State entering the relay. The foursome of senior Brooklynn Morris, senior Kelly-Ann Baptiste, sophomore Latavia Thomas and senior Deonna Lawrence simply needed to finish ahead of the Sun Devils to win the crown.
Arizona State finished fifth in the 4×400-meter relay, giving LSU the team title.
The LSU men finished tied for second with Auburn behind champion Florida State, which won its third straight national championship.
