Gibbs named first-team freshman All-American — 12:09 p.m.

LSU freshman catcher Micah Gibbs was named a freshman first-team All-American by Baseball America magazine today.
Gibbs batted .322 this past season with two home runs and 35 RBIs. He was LSU’s leading hitter in Southeastern Conference play, batting .345.
Gibbs is currently playing on the USA baseball national team.
The SEC placed six freshman on the first-team All-American squad, the most by any conference.
