NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal said he will press Barack Obama for increased funding of hurricane and flood protection in his home state when he and other governors meet with the president-elect on Tuesday. Jindal, who left New Orleans on Monday to join many other governors in Philadelphia for a meeting with Obama, said he wants the new administration to know that Congress has authorized billions of dollars for hurricane and flood protection for Louisiana that has yet to be funded. “There are literally billions of dollars for Louisiana that could be pushed through the pipeline, that have already been allocated … but has yet to come to our communities,” he told reporters at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport.—-Contact The Daily Reveille’s news staff at [email protected]
