KENNER, La. (AP) — Gov. Bobby Jindal is in the dog house and he has President-elect Barack Obama to thank for it.
Jindal says his wife grew up in a family with dogs and his daughter loves the animals. But he says his family has had too much on its plate and despite assurances from his children that they’ll take care of such a pet, he knows it will all end up on dad.
Jindal, following a trip Tuesday to Philadelphia for a meeting with Obama, says Obama’s promise to his daughters to get them a puppy once he made it to the White House has made it tough for the governor, who says his kids are now expressing a renewed interest in getting a family pet.
Jindal didn’t say whether he’d give in to the pressure, but notes his brother-in-law uses every opportunity to threaten to get them a dog anyway.
