Running for congress is a daunting task for most Louisiana politicians. But running without a serious opponent makes Rep. Richard Baker’s job much easier.
For the fifth time since winning his district, Baker is without a Democratic opponent going into the 2006 elections.
While other Louisiana congressmen campaign rigorously for re-election, Baker said he is enjoying the luxury of not running against an opponent during such a critical year for Republicans.
