One creative student may soon see his design featured all across campus – and find his wallet loaded with an extra $250.
A Student Government initiative beginning this semester challenges students to submit designs for the official Fall Fest T-shirt. T-shirts for the event, scheduled for Oct. 5, will feature the winning design.
According to the SG Web site, the design will also be printed on volunteer aprons and other Fall Fest promotional materials.
Submissions are due today at the SG office on the third floor of the Student Union by 4 p.m.
SG Chief of Staff Operations Clark Lanius said following submission, the designs will be sent to the Fall Fest Committee, composed of administrators from the offices of Public Affairs and Facility Services.
There were no submissions as of Tuesday.
SG Director of Communications Will Harris said the new initiative aims to boost student interest in the T-shirts.
“In the past, Fall Fest T-shirts haven’t really sold that well,” Harris said.
Harris said the event will feature many of the vendors from past festivals and offer free food.
The festival, hosted by the Public Affairs office, will be held later this fall than in past semesters. Typically held before the first home football game, Lanius said Chancellor Sean O’Keefe wanted the festival’s date to be moved further back.
