- Mon. Feb.2 “Leave your pick and shovel at home, mates. This treasure is not buried. But that does not necessarily mean it’s in plain sight.”
- Tue. Feb 3 ” The prize will not be found in any building, vehicle or stucture. You never need to be inside. This does not mean, however, that the treasure is not inside something. No heavy lifting is involved. Light lifting? Well, that is another story. But a quick lift is only necessary in the final moment of your search.”
- Wed. Feb 4 “What is it exactly you will be looking for? A small, flat object, about the size and feel of a student ID card. On it will be precise instructions as to the location of a locked strongbox that contains the parking pass and gate wand. They await your rightful claim.”
- Thu. Feb 5 “ Where do you start? A campus map would be helpful. Position yourself in front of building No. 484 and let the towering force of KLSU inspire your quest. Tomorrow, we will be telling you what to be looking for. Until then, remember: Sucessful treasure hunts require more brainpower than legwork.
- Fri. Feb 6 “As you stand in the parking lot of Building 484, with KLSU towering over you, study the words over the front door. Count the number of letters in the last word of the first line. Subtract that total from the number of letters in the last word of the second line. Remember the answer; you will need it toward the very end of your hunt. On Monday, we will tell you where to go from this point.
- Mon. Feb 9 “From Building 484, with KLSU’s tower atop, head out on a 240 degree course for about 3 blocks. (If you run into a structure go around it.) When you come to the most heavily fortified building on campus, stop. This is not rocket science, guys, but close. Count the number of flags poles in front of the building. Hang on to that number. (A flag pole is another clue, but vague.)
- Tue. Feb 10 “We hope you located the correct building. It’s number 200 on the official camus map. There is only one more place you need to go, but we won’t guide you until tomorrow. In the meantime, we will give you two valuable pieces of information for the final moments of you search. First, the hiding place is so simple, it could shock you. And second, it won’t take much effort to expose the prize., about the strength of your index finger. You will want these clues with you at the end.
- Wed. Feb 11 “Two things to know about our clues: Some contain more than one tip and some may not be as they first seem. You will need all 13 to find the prize, although some won’t become meaningful into the final stages of your search. Now, get ready to head out. This time to where you could come under the watchful eye of the most important Mike on campus.”
- Thurs. Feb 12 “The end of your treasure hunt probably will come next Wednesday. What you will find are precise instructions as to where to pick up your wand and parking pass. They are in a strong box. But to open that miniture safe, you will need present the instruction card and the 3 digit combination to the strong box. Those 3 numbers and their proper sequence are not that hard to figure out, given the sponsor of this treasure hunt. Stay tuned boys and girls. Friday, we start zeroing in on the prize.
- Fri. Feb 13 “Morgan Freeman is a great movie actor. Morgan Freeman also is an LSU alumni hero. Find the one place on campus where is he is honored. Somewhere in clue 6 is a vague hint. From one direction, the area looks like the pendulum of a grandfather clock, but the direction may not have a point on the compass.”
- Mon, Feb 16 “When you find Morgan Freeman’s place of honor, head right to Middleton. This has nothing to do with books. When you locate Mr. Robert, your assignment will be to face one of the major points on the compass. Walking too far in the correct direction will immerse you in legal consequences. But how far to go? Be prepared to climb up and down stairs.
- Tue, Feb 17 “So you are standing by Robert Middleton’s name and wondering where to go from there. Take the numerical answer to Clue 6 and place it to the right of the numerical answer to Clue 5. That figure is the number of steps, give or take a step (depending on the length of your stride), you will need to walk in the correct direction, which was hinted at in Clue 11 Monday. Tomorrow, all the information you will need to find parking paradise.
- Wed, Feb 18 “Stumped? Sit on the end of the south concrete bench, facing north, and contemplate the situation. Look down and lift the lid. We have toyed with putting it there, but it could have been too shocking. Now count the outlets. Use that number to determine the direction to walk, ticking off the compass points in a N-S-E-W sequence until you reach the number. Go downward. For help, use the support bar and soon you will feel triumphant. Rip open the instructions of how and where to claim the prize. Providing you come up with the correct three digit combination to the strongbox-numbers near and dear to KLSU-FM, you will be parking with the elite.
