LSU climbed to No. 12 in the latest standings of the Learfield Sports Director’s Cup.LSU finished No. 8 in last year’s standings, the highest ranking in school history.The Director’s Cup measures the strength of a school’s athletic programs by awarding points for up to 20 teams — 10 men’s and 10 women’s — based on the team’s success.LSU now has 526.5 points in the standings, just last than half the school’s 1,085.0 points in last year’s top-10 finish.The Tigers’ sixth place national finish in gymnastics earned LSU 73.5 points, and LSU also earned 50 points a piece for the men’s and women’s basketball teams advancing to the NCAA tournaments’ second round.LSU is one of three Southeastern Conference teams in the top 25.
