The LSU swimming and diving teams got off to a fast start Wednesday at the Southeastern Conference championships in Auburn, Ala.”We couldn’t have asked for much better of a start,” LSU coach Adam Schmitt said in a news release. “We broke four school records, and the divers performed well. We still have three more days to go, and hopefully our performance today will encourage the rest of our athletes who haven’t competed yet that they can perform at that same level.”LSU senior Julius Gloeckner broke a 9-year-old record with a 1 minute, 36.09 seconds as the lead-off swimmer in the 800-yard freestyle relay which also broke a school record.The Tigers and Lady Tigers also broke also broke the school records in the 200-yard medley relays.
