LSU senior center Chris Johnson was named Louisiana Sports Writers Player of the Week, the Athletic Department announced Tuesday.
Johnson had back-to-back double doubles against Tennessee and Arkansas, both wins for LSU. He had 14 points and 14 rebounds against the Volunteers and 18 points and 11 rebounds against the Razorbacks.
The Montross, Va., native also had a career-high seven blocks against Arkansas.
Southeastern Louisiana’s Kristy Carlin was named the women’s player of the week by the LSWA.
