LSU junior second baseman Ryan Schimpf was named Southeastern Conference Player of the Week by the league office Monday. Schimpf went 7-for-10 in the Tigers’ sweep of Villanova this weekend. He also hit six RBI and one home run. The Covington native also collected four walks and four stolen bases with a .786 on-base percentage.
