Because of the new University Student Recreational Complex gate closure policy implemented on Jan. 20, students must now walk through the UREC and swipe their student IDs in order to access the outdoor basketball, tennis and volleyball courts. The gate closure policy, implemented because of increasing numbers of non-members using the student-funded facilities, has generated a wave of complaints and a string of vandalism.
