The LSU softball team won the Easton Purple and Gold Challenge this weekend at Tiger Park.
Texas State forfeited the championship game because of travel limitations. LSU beat Alabama-Birmingham, 11-0, in five innings in the semifinals.
Freshman shortstop Juliana Santos led the way with two hits and two RBI. Freshman catcher Morgan Russell went 1-for-2 with three RBI.
Junior Cody Trahan pitched a complete game for the Tigers, allowing only one hit and one walk while striking out six batters.
LSU faced UAB for the fourth time this season. The Tigers won three out of the four matchups.
LSU faces Southern Miss on Wednesday in Tiger Park.
