LSU middle blocker Britnee Cooper and former LSU libero Elena Martinez will attend a tryout this weekend for the United States Women’s National team, the LSU Athletic Department announced Thursday.
Cooper, a rising senior, made first-team All-Southeastern Conference honors last season with 226 kills and a .343 hitting percentage.
Martinez, a senior last season, was a two-time SEC Defensive Player of the Year and is second in school history with 1,414 digs.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for Brittnee and Elena to represent LSU volleyball and showcase their talents on the national stage,” said LSU coach Fran Flory in a news release.
