Notes from the Artistic Underground, an art exhibit which will feature various pieces of low-brow and pop art, opens Friday in the Foster Hall Art Gallery with a reception celebration at 5:30 p.m.
The art to be featured in the exhibit is referred to as being “underground” because art of this type of nature is not typically found in major art galleries, according to Darius Spieth, the exhibit’s curator.
The exhibit runs from Friday through Dec. 4 and will feature local artists as well as works by current University students and faculty.
Admission is free and is open to the public. The exhibit will be open 10 a.m to 4 p.m. on weekdays and 1p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays as well as Saturdays with home football games.
