The LSU women’s basketball team will be without co-captain Andrea Kelly as the Lady Tigers begin the regular season Sunday against Centenary.
The senior point guard suffered a foot injury in late October, and coach Van Chancellor said it is hard to say how much time she will miss.
“Andrea Kelly has the kind of injury where you hate to say she’s out for [a certain period of time] because you just don’t know,” Chancellor said. “She has to get the boot off first and be able to walk without it hurting. All you can take is rest, so I don’t know when she’ll play.”
Senior guard Allison Hightower, junior guards Katherine Graham and Latear Eason, and sophomore forwards Courtney Jones and Taylor Turnbow are projected to start Sunday. Tipoff is at 2 p.m. in the PMAC.
