The LSU football team moved up in both major polls after its 33-30 overtime victory against Arkansas on Saturday.
LSU (9-3, 5-3) moved up to No. 15 in the Associated Press Top 25 and No. 14 in the USA Today Coaches Top 25. The Tigers were ranked No. 17 in both polls last week.
Florida maintained its No. 1 ranking in both polls for the sixth straight week. The Gators have been No. 1 in both polls and the BCS standings for every week but one this season, when Alabama held the top spot in the AP poll the week of Oct. 18.
Alabama and Texas round out the top three once again but hold different positions in both polls. The Crimson Tide are No. 2 in the AP poll and No. 3 in the USA Today poll, while the Longhorns are No. 3 in the AP poll and No. 2 in the USA Today poll.
Florida, Alabama and LSU are the only ranked Southeastern Conference teams. Ole Miss dropped out of both polls after a 41-27 loss to Mississippi State on Saturday.
LSU was No. 15 in last week’s BCS standings. The latest version of the standings will be released later this evening.
