The Tigers traveled to Tuscaloosa to take on the Crimson Tide and Nick Saban as they were looking to get revenge after last season’s overtime loss to Bama in Tiger Stadium.
Alabama head coach Nick Saban got the best of Les Miles and the Tigers again as the Tigers lost in Bama for the first time since 1999.”
The LSU tigers were up 7-3 at halftime, but the tide turned in the second half as injuries plagued the tigers, and they fell to the crimson tide 24-15.
“I’m going to make sure that i do what I have to do to get this offense back, especially coming off a loss and make sure that we don’t lose for the rest of the season,” said LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson.
The Tigers were robbed in the fourth quarter after cornerback Patrick Peterson’s interception along the sidelines was ruled incomplete after an official review. Replays clearly indicate that Peterson’s pick was legit.
“I just came in front of Julio and caught the ball,” said Peterson. “ After I caught the ball i looked down and saw both feet in. I guess I don’t know what the refs were looking at.”
Senior running back Charles Scott broke out for a 34 yard run, but fractured his clavicle after being tackled. Scott will miss the rest of the season. Stevan Ridley stepped in and delivered a touchdown for the Tigers.
“This is an opportunity for someone to you know kinda just step up and show what they’re capable of doing,” said Keiland Williams, LSU running back. “ So we’re gonna go out this week and we’re gonna compete and the best guy is gonna get the job.”
“We’re totally confident 100 percent in Stevan. He’s a great running back and he’s been waiting his turn like every other great running back at LSU,” said LSU linebacker, Kelvin Sheppard. “He’s just been waiting patiently and his time has come.”
Despite being beaten again this season, the tigers moved up a spot to number eight in the bcs standings. The tigers will look to avoid a skid similar to the end of last season.
LSU went one and three in the last four regular season games last season. They will take on the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs this weekend in Tiger Stadium.
