As cars pass sophomore, Megan McCarty can be spotted under her tree with her blue blanket attending band practice.
“I like to go to band practice after long day of classes it feels nice to come sit out and watch,” McCarty said.
McCarty’s friends will often make jokes about her attending band practice, but for McCarty it is just a way to relax.”
“I get really excited about the band at football games and stuff,” she said. “I just love the band.””
McCarty has a strong interest in music but does not consider herself musically inclined.
“I can not play any instrument so I guess that’s why I love band practice so much because I can’t play an instrument so I may as well listen to them play,” said McCarty.
Her blue blanket has become apart of the experience it often attracts many of her friends to sit with her.
“I usually bring my blanket and have snacks. On Tuesday and Thursday I have a crazy schedule and I don’t always get to eat lunch.”
Many students on LSU campus often find various ways of dealing with stress and anxiety of college. For Megan McCarty it involves being out here under her tree watching the band practice. However for her friend Leda Williams, she enjoys riding her bikes on the levees.
“My new found hobby is ridding my bike along the levy along the Mississippi river. Down from downtown to the casino,” said Williams.
In addition to bike riding Williams also relieves stress by organizing
“I will clean my room organize my binders I color coordinate stuff like crazy.,” she said.
