The Homecoming Committee turned the typical service aspect of Homecoming up a notch this year with Canapalooza, a program in which students use donated canned goods to create replicas of high-profile University buildings — made entirely out of cans.
“[Homecoming has] always had a service aspect, but this yeas it’s 10 times bigger because it’s the 100 homecoming,” said Amelia Burns, chair of the Homecoming Committee.
Various organizations like the Honors College, Volunteer LSU and various fraternities and sororities are participating in Canapalooza, buildings structures like the Pentagon or the North Gates.
The final group of can builders will be on the Parade Ground tonight at 6 p.m.
