LSU senior midfielder Malorie Rutledge has been named Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Year for the second straight season, the league office announced Monday.
Rutledge also earned first-team All-SEC honors, along with LSU senior defender Chelsea Potts. Senior midfielder Melissa Clarke and sophomore defender Allysha Chapman made the second team, while midfielder/forward Carlie Banks made the All-Freshman team.
Rutledge, a unanimous selection to the All-SEC First Team, scored nine goals and racked up 11 assists on the season, leading the SEC with 29 points.
The first-team honor is the third of Rutledge’s career, making her the first player in program history to earn such a distinction.
LSU faces Vanderbilt in the first round of the SEC tournament Wednesday in Orange Beach, Ala.
